CityHousing Hamilton (CHH) is embarking on an ambitious revitalization of its portfolio through the extensive retrofit of existing assets and new development that replaces sold single and semi-detached units, as well as adds net new units.

CHH has a bold vision for inclusive and socially sustainable housing across the city.

Reinvestment into CHH’s social and affordable housing portfolio will visibly take shape with an initial five buildings. An investment of $63 million has been approved for the first ever large scale revitalization of CHH’s portfolio. The redevelopment includes 337 units, rehabilitating 146 through an extensive retrofit and the new construction of 191 units, which replaces 146 units and creation 45 net new units.

In addition, CHH is also in various planning stages for several other projects, including Jamesville, a downtown waterfront site which we are securing a development partner for and where we expect to see at least ~50 social housing units replaced and retained on site.
